Features of Swimsuit Fabric
1.Lycra
Lycra is artificial elastic fiber. It has the best elasticity, which can be extended to 4~6 times of the original length. It has excellent elongation. It is suitable to be blended with various kinds of fibers to improve the drapability and anti-wrinkling property of fabrics. The Lycra that contains chlorine resistant ingredient will make the swimsuit more durable.
2.Nylon
Although nylon is not so sturdy as Lycra, its elasticity and softness are comparable to those of Lycra. At present, nylon is the most commonly used fabric for swimsuit, which is suitable for mid-priced products.
3.Polyester
Polyester is unidirectional and two-sided stretched elastic fiber. Most are applied in swimming trunks or women’s two-piece swimsuit, which are not suitable for one-piece style.
Washing and Maintenance of Swimsuit
1.Washing of Swimsuit
Most swimsuits should be hand washed with cold water (lower than 30℃) and then air dried, which cannot be washed with detergent, as soap or washing powder, etc. It is because most detergent contains bleaching or fluorescent ingredients, which will damage the color and elasticity of swimsuit.
2.Maintenance of Swimsuit
(1) The salt of the sea water, chlorine in the pool, chemicals and oils can damage the elasticity of the swimsuit. When using sunscreen, please put on the swimsuit before applying sunscreen. Before going into the water, please wet the swimsuit with water first, so as to decrease the damage. After swimming, you should rinse your body before taking off your swimsuit.
(2) Please do not put the wet swimsuit in the bag for a long time, to avoid heat fading or making it smelly. Instead, please wash it by hand with clean water, and then blot the moisture with a towel and air dry in a shady place where the light is not direct.
(3) Swimsuit should not be washed or dehydrate by washing machine. It should not be exposed to sunlight or dried by dryer to avoid deforming.
(4) Washing powder and bleaching agent will damage the elasticity of swimsuit. Please avoid using them.
(5) Please avoid rubbing the swimsuit on rough rocks, which will decrease the using life of swimsuit.
(6) Please note that the sulfur and high temperature in hot springs can easily damage the elastic tissue of swimwear.
