Flammability
Flammability is the ability of an object to ignite or burn. It is a very important characteristic, because there are various kinds of textiles around people. For the flammability, clothes and indoor furniture will cause serious harm to consumers and cause significant material losses.
Flexibility
Flexibility refers to the ability of the fiber to bend repeatedly without breaking. The flexible fiber, such as acetate fiber can be made into fabric and clothing with good drapability. And rigid fiber, such as glass fiber cannot be used to make clothing. But it can be applied in relatively stiff decorative fabric. Generally, the finer the fiber is, it will have better drapability. The flexibility will also influence the hand feeling of fabric.
Handle
Handle is the feeling when touching the fiber, yarn or fabric. The fiber morphology can be different, as round, flat and multi-lobed, etc. The fiber surfaces are also different, as smooth, jagged and scale-like, etc.
Luster
Luster refers to the reflection of light on the surface of the fiber. The different characteristics of fiber will affect its luster. The shiny surface, less bending, flat sectional shape and longer fiber length can enhance the reflection of light.
Pilling
Pilling is that some short and broken fibers on the surface of a fabric intertwine into small fur balls. It is generally caused by wearing friction.
Rebound Resilience
Rebound resilience refers to the ability of the material to recover elasticity after being folded, twisted and warped, which is closely related to the fold recovery ability. Fabric with good rebound resilience will be not easy to crease. So it is easy to keep a good shape.
