Polyester: Stiff and Anti-creasing
1.Features:
High strength. Good shock resistance. Resistant to heat, corrosion, moth and acid, but not resistant to alkali. Good light resistance (Second only to acrylic fiber). Expose to sunlight for 1000 hours, strength still keeps 60-70%. Poor moisture absorption. Difficult to dye. Fabric is easy washing and quick drying. Good shape retention. “Wash and wear”.
2.Application:
Filament: Used as low stretch yarn to make various kinds of textiles.
Short fiber: Can be blended with cotton, wool and flax, etc.
Industry: tire cord thread, fishing net, rope, filter cloth, insulating material, etc. Polyester is the most often used among chemical fibers.
3.Dyeing:
Generally, polyester is dyed by disperse dyes and high temperature and high pressure dyeing method.
Nylon: Strong and Wear-resistant
1.Features:
Nylon is strong and wear resistant. Density is small. Fabric is light. Good elasticity. Resistant to fatigue. Good chemical stability. Resistant to alkali, but not resistant to acid.
Disadvantage: Bad light aging property. Expose to sun light for long time, there will be yellowing and strength will decrease. Moisture absorption is bad, but it is better than that of acrylic fiber and polyester.
2.Application:
Filament: Mainly applied in knitted and silk industry.
Short fiber: Mainly blended with wool or wool-like chemical fibers.
Industry: cord thread and finishing net, carpet, rope, conveyor belt, sieve mesh, etc.
3.Dyeing:
Generally, nylon is dyed by acid dyes and normal temperature and normal pressure dyeing method.
Acrylic Fiber: Fluffy and Sun-proof
1.Features:
Good light aging property and good weather resistance. Poor moisture absorption. Difficult to dye.
2.Application:
Mainly for civil use. Can be pure spun and blended both to make wool-like fabric, blanket, sportswear, artificial fur, plush, bulked yarn, water hose and sunshade cloth, etc.
3.Dyeing:
Generally, acrylic fiber is dyed by cationic dyes and normal temperature and normal pressure dyeing method.
