The factors affecting the strength and elongation of yarn mainly are two aspects, as the fiber property and yarn structure. Among, the strength and elongation of blended yarn are also closely related to the property difference of blended fiber and blending ratio.
Property of Fiber
1.Length and linear density of fiber:
When the fiber length is long and the fiber is fine, the friction resistance between fibers in the yarn is large, and it is not easy to slip, so the yarn strength is high.
When the fiber length uniformity is good and the fiber is fine and even, the yarn strips are even and the weak rings are few and not significant, which is conducive to the improvement of yarn strength.
2.Strength of fiber:
If the strength and elongation of fiber is strong, the strength and elongation of the yarn is stronger.
3.Surface friction property of fiber:
When the surface friction property of fiber increases, the sliding resistance between fibers will increase and the slip length will decrease, so the slipping fibers will decrease and the yarn strength will increase. Also to improve the crimp number of fiber will increase the sliding resistance between fibers.
Fiber Structure
1.Twist of yarn
When the twist coefficient increases, the friction resistance between wood fibers increases, so it is not easy to slip, which make the yarn strength strong. When the twist coefficient increases, the fibers are tilting more and more, the effective component force of fiber strength in the yarn axial direction will decrease. Also the increase of yarn diameter when the fiber is tilted will lower the strength of yarn.
2.Plying
The combination of single yarn makes the strips of plyyarn even. Also the single yarn contacts with each other, which makes the cohesive force between the outer fibers of a single yarn increase. Strength of plyyarn is bigger than the sum of single yarn strength.
3.The arrangement of fibers in staple yarn
The strength of rotor yarn is lower than that of ring yarn.
4.Bulked yarn
Tensile breaking strength of bulked yarn is smaller than that of traditional yarn. And the elongation at break of bulked yarn is bigger.
