High shrinkage fiber can be divided into high shrinkage acrylic fiber and high shrinkage polyester.
Application of High Shrinkage Polyester
High shrinkage polyester is often blended with ordinary polyester, wool and cotton, etc. or interwoven with polyester/cotton yarn and cotton yarn to produce unique fabrics. High shrinkage polyester can also be used to make artificial fur, artificial suede and blankets, etc. The typical application products are as following.
1. Polyester wool-like fabric
It is to weave high shrinkage polyester yarn with low shrinkage and non-shrinkage fiber into the fabric and then treat by boiling water. So that the fibers in the fabric will become curly in different degrees and fluffy. Combination yarns produced by this method are generally used to produce polyester wool-like fabrics.
2.Seersucker and high figured crepe
It is to weave high shrinkage polyester yarn with low shrinkage yarns, in which high shrinkage polyester yarn is to weave sole or stripe and low shrinkage yarn is to make jacquard weave surface. This fabric can be made into permanent seersucker or high figured crepe.
3.Synthetic leather
For the high shrinkage polyester for producing synthetic leather, the boiling water shrinkage rate must be above 50%. It can be used to make artificial fur, artificial suede and blankets, etc., which has soft handle and compact fluff.
Application of High Shrinkage Acrylic Fiber
Fabric of high shrinkage acrylic fiber has soft hand feeling, fluffy texture and good heat retention property. It has wide application.
1.It is to blend high shrinkage acrylic fiber with ordinary acrylic fiber to spin into yarns, and then boil or steam them in a state of no tension. The high shrinkage acrylic fiber will curl and the ordinary acrylic fiber will curl into loops for they are constrained by high shrinkage fibers, so the made yarns are fluffy and full like wool. High shrinkage fiber can be made into acrylic bulky yarns, machine knitting yarns and Chenille Yarns.
2.High shrinkage acrylic fiber can be pure spun and also blended with wool, flax and rabbit hair, etc. to make various kinds of cashmere-like fabric, fur-like fabric, imitated mohair fabric, linen-like fabric and silk-like fabric, etc.
