The Types of Fabrics of Sun-protective Clothing
There are generally four types of fabrics of sun-protective clothing, as polyester, nylon, cotton and silk.
Polyester fabric has good sun-protective effect, but poor air permeability. Nylon fabric is wear-resistant, but it is easy to deform. Cotton fabric has good moisture absorption and air permeability but it is easy to crease. Silk fabric is very smooth but its sun-protective effect is worse.
Which Fabric Has the Best Sun-protective Effect?
Polyester fabric has the best sun-protective effect. The molecular structure of polyester contains benzene rings. Benzene rings have unique effect to reflect ultraviolet light. Therefore, it itself can play the role of UV protection and sun protection. Secondly, there is a sun-protective coating on the surface of polyester fabric, which can prevent ultraviolet ray damaging the skin through the clothes. That shows double sun-protective efficacy.
Dark Color and Light Color Sun-Protective Clothing, Which Is Better?
Dark Color sun-protective clothing has better effect. The ability to absorb ultraviolet light of black and red is stronger than other color. The thicker the dark color sun-protective clothing, the better is the sun-protective effect. Although light color clothing does not absorb heat, it cannot block ultraviolet light. Constant and intense sun exposure can also burn the skin.
