Fully Drawn Yarn (FDY)
It is a kind of synthetic filament yarn made by spinning and stretching. The fiber is fully stretched, which can be directly used in textile dyeing and finishing process. Polyester fully drawn yarn and nylon fully drawn yarn are commonly used. FDY fabric has soft and smooth hand feeling. It is usually used to make silk-like fabric. Also it is widely applied in clothing and home textiles.
Pre-Oriented Yarn/ Partially Oriented Yarn (POY)
It is the partly stretched chemical fiber filament yarn made by high-speed spinning, which is between unoriented yarn and drawn yarn. Comparing with undrawn yarn, it has a certain degree of orientation, which has good stability and is commonly used as special purpose yarn for drawn textured yarn.
Drawn Textured Yarn (DTY)
It is made by using POY as protofilament stretch and false twist. It is often elastic and contractile.
Air Textured Yarn (ATY)
It uses air jet method to cross and process the yarn bundles via air jet technology to form irregular knotting loops, which makes the yarn bundles have fluffy loops. The processed drawn textured yarn has performance of both filament fiber and staple fiber yarn. It has good handle. Its coverage is better than that of staple fiber yarn.
It is suitable for woven and knitting. Bye means of the air jet technology, it can be made medium and thin monofilament or polyfilament or covering wool-like, flax-like and cotton-like fabric. Also it can be applied in high denier-fiber for carpet, sofa fabric and tapestry.
Air textured yarn has better fluffiness, air permeability, luster and softness than un-textured raw yarn.
