There are two methods to print and dye fabric, as the traditional paint dyeing  and printing and the reactive dyeing and printing.

Active printing and dyeing is that in the process of dyeing and printing, the active genes of the dye combine with the fiber molecules to form a whole, so that the fabric has good dust-proof performance, high cleanliness and high color fastness.

The difference between reactive printing and dyeing is that fabric by reactive printing and dyeing has soft and smooth hand feeling, which looks like mercerized cotton. But fabric by paint printing and dyeing is stiff and looks like ink painting.

The process is simple and the cost is low. But the color fastness  is poor. Fabric gets old every time after being washed. The environmental-friendly performance is poor for the formaldehyde content is higher than that of reactive printing and dyeing. The printing part is sticky. Without softener, the fabric will be stiffer. But with softener, the formaldehyde content will be higher.

Fabric has good air permeability, excellent color fastness and soft handle. But there exist some problems, as too many printing processes, long procedure and difficult process, etc. Generally, reactive printing and dyeing is eco-friendly and harmless to people. The color and hand feeling of fabric both are better.

How to Distinguish Reactive Dyeing and Printing and Paint Dyeing and Printing?

1.Color:
Color of fabric by paint printing is not bright. It is dim. It seems that the color is floating on the cloth, which likes to brush a coat of paint on the wall.

2.Luster:
Fabric by paint printing must have the last process, as calendering process. So if the surface of cloth is shiny, it may be paint printing. But the shiny surface will disappear after washing.

3.Smell
Paint printing is added many adhesives. And it is directly through setting without washing. So there will be a strong smell in the finished fabric.

4.Handle:
Paint printing fabric is stiff. Fabric supply will add softener  in setting process. Also by calendering process, the fabric will become softer. But most of it will fall off after washing.
