100% Cotton
Cotton denim is inelastic, high-density and heavy. It is stiff and good to shape. It is not easy to bulge. It is formfitting, comfortable and breathable. But the hand feeling is hard. And the bound feeling is strong when sit and hunker.
Cotton/Spandex Denim
After added spandex, the denim is more elastic. The waist and hip parts are comfortable. There are more size adaptations. But it is easy to bulge. It is suggest that the rate of spandex should be lower than 3%.
Cotton + Polyester (about 25%) + Spandex Denim (about 5%)
Cotton/polyester elastic denim has better elastic retraction than cotton denim. So in the same shape and size, cotton/polyester elastic denim has lower degree of bulge. But it is less formfitting and less breathable.
Cotton + Polyester (within 10%) + Spandex (about 5%)
For such components, most are twin-core denim. All the polyester and spandex are wrapped in the cotton yarns in the form of cotextured yarns. It is as formfitting and comfortable as 100% cotton denim, but has elasticity without bulging.
100% Tencel Denim and 100% Modal Denim
Tencel denim and modal denim both are soft, drapable and coolcore. But tencel and modal are too soft, of which shaping effect is worse than cotton. So tencel denims and modal denims are generally loose and flexible.
Acetate Denim, Silk Denim & Wool Denim
These denims are added valuable and high-end fiber to increase the more comfortable and formfitting feeling for denims. Also they are blended in the good luster and the soft and anti-creasing characteristic of the high-end fibers.
Knitted Denim
Knitted denim is the most comfortable. With same components, the resistance to deformation is much lower than that of woven denim. So that it is recommended not to choose too well-fitting or too close-fitting knitted denim.
