What Are The Features of Super Imitation Cotton?

1.Wool-like handle and bulkiness

Polyester filament has high bundling and its surface is smooth. In order to make it wool-like handle, it has to change its fiber structure.

2.Imitate the moisture absorption of cotton

At present, the main methods to improve the moisture absorption of polyester include using fine denier or ultra-fine denier filament to increase the specific surface area of the fiber so as to increase the capillary core suction speed, and modifying the cross section of fiber to increase hygroscopic grooves so as to increase the moisture absorption speed, and having hydrophilic modification on fiber to increase hydrophilic groups on fiber so as to strengthen the moisture absorbing ability of fiber.

3.Imitate the luster of cotton

In order to change the glossiness of polyester and achieve cotton-like effect, it needs to form diffuse reflection on the fiber surface to reduce the reflection ability of light. The methods to decrease the glossiness include modifying the fiber surface to make its surface less reflective of light or absorb part of the light to form a soft luster, using fine denier or ultra-fine denier filament to improve the diffuse reflection ability and make the light soft.

4.Make up for the defects of cotton

It is to use the characteristics of polyester to make up for the defects of cotton. For example, the light resistance, heat resistance and mildew resistance, etc. can make up the lack of durability of cotton fabric. And polyester has big initial modulus. It is stiff and not easy to deform, which has good shape retention. These all can make up for the defects that cotton fabric is easy to crease, easy to deform and not wear resistant, etc.
