Fibers

 

1.Isoelectric point
Adjust the pH value of the solution to make the number of positive and negative ions on the protein molecules equal. The pH value of the solution is the isoelectric point of the protein.
 
2.Feltability of wool
In wet and hot conditions and by the repeated action of external forces, the wool fibers intertwine with each other and the fiber assemblies gradually shrink and become tight. That is called the feltability of wool.
 
3.Moisture regain
Moisture regain refers to the percentage of the moisture quality in the textile fibers to the absolute dry fiber quality.
 
4.Iodine number
Iodine number refers to the milliliters that 1g dried cellulose can reduce the iodine solution of c(1/2I2)=0.1mol/l.
 
5.Aggregation structure
Aggregation structure refers to the organizational structure formed by mutual convergence under the action of intermolecular forces.
 
6.Reactivity ratio
It is the ratio of self-polymerization to copolymerization in the copolymerization.
 
7.Mechanical relaxation phenomena
It refers to the phenomenon that the mechanical properties of polymers change with time.
 
8.Swelling
Swelling refers to that the fiber increases in volume while absorbing moisture.
 
9.Cellulose molecule
Cellulose is a linear macromolecule of β-D-glucose residue linked by 1-4 glycoside bonds.
 
10.Mercerizing
It is the process to wash off the alkali liquor on fabrics under the condition of treating cotton fabric with concentrated caustic soda solution at room temperature and then applying tension to the fabric, so as to improve the performance of cotton.
 
11.Salt shrinking
When silk fibers are treated in concentrated solution of neutral salts such as calcium chloride and calcium nitrate, it will obviously swell or shrink, which is called salt shrinking.
 
12.Moisture absorption equilibrium
When the fiber is placed at a certain temperature and humidity, its moisture regain gradually tends to a stable value. That is called moisture absorption equilibrium.
 
13.Chain segment
It is the smallest unit of a main chain, which can move independently.
 
14.Degree of crystallinity
It is the percentage of crystalline phase in a crystalline polymer.
 
15.Tg
It refers to that the glassy state and high elastic state of amorphous polymer transit temperature with each other.
